She wanted to be more daring, but one small risk is about to cost her everything—maybe even her life.

Bold and adventurous in her work as owner of one of Manhattan's boutique interior design firms, Kit Finn couldn't be tamer in her personal life. While on vacation in the Florida Keys, Kit resolves to do something risky for once. When she literally bumps into a charming stranger at her hotel, she decides to make good on her promise and act on her attraction.

But back in New York, when Kit arrives at his luxury apartment ready to pick up where they left off in the Keys, she doesn't recognize the man standing on the other side of the door.

Was this a cruel joke or part of something truly sinister? Kit soon realizes that she's been thrown into a treacherous plot, which is both deeper and deadlier than she could have ever imagined. Now the only way to protect herself, her business, and the people she loves is to find out the true identity of the man who has turned her life upside down.

Adrenaline-charged and filled with harrowing twists at every turn, The Wrong Man will keep readers riveted until the final page.

drey’s thoughts:

The Plot: Kit Finn’s on vacation, decides to let loose a bit, meets a guy, and is excited for the possibilities when he invites her to dinner once they’re both back in New York City. She’s stunned when she shows up at dinner – and the guy there’s not her guy.

Next thing she knows, Kit’s being questioned by the police about a dead man. A dead not-her-guy

The Characters: Kit Finn is a woman trapped in a nightmare of a game where she doesn’t know who the players are, what the rules are, or which way leads to the – or any – exit. She’s in over her head, and not sure where to turn, especially when her home is broken into.

The police don’t seem to believe her. The dead guy’s employer wants to know what she knows. And someone’s trying to kill her. Or is that just her paranoia showing?

I liked Kit, except for the instances where she second-guesses herself. She’s smart, so why doesn’t she believe her gut instinct? Some of her decisions are questionable, even with the reasoning she spins as justification. Still, she’s a heroine to root for.

The Story: The Wrong Man is all action from the get-go. Well, from when Kit gets back to NYC anyway. Then it’s a non-stop roller-coaster ride all the way to the end, so hang on tight. Drugs, money, and murder, all wrapped up in a tightly packaged thrill ride – what’s not to like?

drey’s rating: Excellent!
