Hoo boy. Here’s a PSA for you: before picking up Marie Harte’s What to Do with a Bad Boy, make sure to have a nice, ice cold drink handy. Because this book is HOT.

Del Webster is a tough-talking, fiercely-independent, hands-on mechanic. She’s snarky and sassy, and isn’t afraid to say what she’s thinking. She tries to curb her colorful language around Mike’s impressionable son Colin, but there’s only so much you can do when little ears pick up everything. It’s almost too bad she can’t just avoid Mike entirely…

Baggage is an understatement when it comes to what Mike’s carrying around. Losing his wife in childbirth, having to stay strong for his infant child and his family, has left its mark on the eldest McCauley brother. His love is amazing to behold – love for his departed wife, for his rambunctious son, for his family. But if Mike hasn’t let his wife go yet, how can he make room for Del?

The emotions run deep in What to Do with a Bad Boy, and is reflected in the snappy dialogue and character angst. Mike and Del are so real, they flow off the pages. You want to smack Mike when he screws up, and you want to have a heart-to-heart with Del when she freaks out. The supporting characters aren’t half bad either, and provide the levity to balance this couple’s drama.

The sparks fly fast and hot, and combined with the character drama makes for a fabulously satisfying read. Pick this one up – and don’t forget to check out the other three McCauley Brothers books!
